SAFA Skysailor Magazine
11 AUTUMN 2025 | March-April-May SKY SAILOR No-one got around the course, with Nils winning the day at 65km and the rest of the field spread out evenly along the entire course. The Floater task was Mt Elliot > Towong > Pine Forrest (up on Mt Mittamatite) > Corryong and most of the field landed in the same area in the valley below the Pine Forrest turnpoint. The day winner was James, the only pilot brave enough to push on low over the tree tops at Pine Forrest. After tagging the turnpoint, he didn’t have the height to turn back for goal. He ended up skirting around the west side of Mitta’, landing at Cudgewa North. Task 4 was looking dicey from the start due to forecast late thunderstorms. The task committee designed two tasks to keep us at the western end of the valley and clear of storm activity. The Open/Sport task was Elliot > Thowgla > Cudgewa North > Cudgewa (Goal) for 50km. The Floater task was straight line to Cudgewa. Unfortunately, the task was stopped due to approaching thunder- Andy; Dean; Damian; Andy P; Mark T; Neil Hollingsworth Photos: Tracey Meyer
