16 SKY SAILOR March-April-May | AUTUMN 2025 4.Lake St Clair (Vinson) – this inland hike & fly site is located in the Hunter Valley region outside Singleton NSW. 5.Mystic (Denali) – located across the border in Victoria, Mystic is one of the most popular Victorian inland sites, and has hosted numerous State and National competitions. Hike & Fly challenge 6.Spring Hill (Elbrus) – the primary flying site for Canberra where cross-country and wind soaring flights are common. 7.Cook Terrace (Kosciusko) – a coastal cliff site located in Sydney’s Northern Beaches region. There is no entry fee for the event and it is open to all pilots, including visiting pilots, however, you must be a financial member of SPHGC before you commence the event to be eligible for the prizes. This event is open until 31 December 2025. To register, email whereisdog@ hotmail.com with your name, SAFA number and home club. Pilots must commence the climb from the centre of the landing field and can take any legal route to the launch. The traverse up the slope must be by your own foot power only and the pilot will carry all gear for the flight on the hike. Anyone can keep track of the leader board via the SPHGC website .
