22 SKY SAILOR March-April-May | AUTUMN 2025 After a gruelling five hours in the air, I landed short of goal and will place 4th for the day, despite feeling like I should have won. As my uncle would have said, “Atta Boy, Jonny, you did your best.” You can check the 3D tracks of the top four here – https://xc.highcloud.net/ task_result.html?comPk=434&tasPk=1877 21 January Task 5 ‘Strike me pink’, not the fairy tale ending I was hoping for on the last day of the comp. I started well and was ahead of everyone I needed to be, but then got shut down. I ended up landing short of goal and fell off the podium by a few points. I’m mostly bummed that I won't be taking home one of Juan Corral amazing trophies. Congratulations to the winners: 1st Attila, 2nd Gordon Rigg, and 3rd Olav Opsanger – https://xc.highcloud.net/ task_result.html?comPk=434&tasPk=1887 Big thank you to Michael Zupanc for driving down from QLD to drive for us all week, and without Vicki and Greg Cain running the show, there would be no Forbes. Considering Forbes is flat, it’s essential to have amazing tug pilots – Steve Mac, Blaino and Marco.
