28 SKY SAILOR March-April-May | AUTUMN 2025 Site review: Teewah Beach, SE Qld Rated PG2 / HG2, Teewah Beach, located in the Great Sandy National Park, is an idyllic flying site offering endless coastal sand dunes with relaxing coastal flying from Tewantin to potentially as far as Double Island Point to the north. This paradise is home to SAFA affiliated club, Sunshine Coast Free Flyers. Only accessible by 4WD, the site is known by local pilots and visitors for mesmerising ocean views, where you may spot whales breaching, rays gliding just below the surface and sea eagles soaring almost within reach. It’s a favourite for pilots wanting to practise top landing and tree skimming. The Sunshine Coast Free Flyers club is dedicated to fun, camaraderie, mentor- ship and inclusivity.
