I had just climbed to 3000m in a thermal above Mt Mittamatite with a peak lift of around 9m/sec. I had a 8:1 final glide calculation to a turnpoint just past the town of Corryong, and then a sharp left turn to the end of the task at the Mt Elliot landing paddock. This exhilarating moment in the final task of the Corryong Paragliding Open 2025 was just one of many that I will reflect on for a long time.
