46 SKY SAILOR March-April-May | AUTUMN 2025 My three-hour non-stop round trip PPG flight to Rottnest last Saturday was a dream finally realised. I was flying my Maverick 185 on a Qubik 23m 2 , in company with my partner in a JK-2 Nano gyroplane (out of YMUL). After a successful launch and rendezvous, we set off on our adventure together after a year of planning. My route took me from Warnbro, up along the coast to Fremantle, crossing over to Rottnest for some scenic flying before flying back the same way. The weather was fantastic with light tailwinds for both crossings and only the occasional air traffic in the area. We were rewarded with spectacular views of the island and surrounding ocean.
