SAFA Skysailor Magazine
51 AUTUMN 2025 | March-April-May SKY SAILOR produced screening, featuring a crimson sunset floating through voluptuous candy-clouds, a cold, invigorating night sleeping in his wing, and an audacious morning launch. Some people said the film touched them in places they hadn’t been touched in years. In ‘Lessons From Being Two-Tyred’, Carrie Doyle shared the ruts and grooves of bike-packing – lessons she learned through a 3000km solo trip from the Queensland coast to the ACT, and back. Packed with chuckles and charm, her film ultimately revealed the beauty and adven- ture of riding long distances on wild tracks outweighs butt-punishing suffering (just). Carol Liang’s film ‘Girl Meets Goat’ took us deep into the back range of the Indian Himalayas, sharing the thrill (and terror) of a paraglider-vulture collision and subsequent unplanned landing in remote backcountry. Carol’s positivity, and inner strength were as much the highlights as her night spent in the company of Nepal- ese goat herders in their stone hut before her gruelling and perilous walk out. During a short intermission, we felt the real magic – it wasn’t just the screenings, it Girl Meets Goat; Go Via; and Lessons from Being Two-Tyred
