The prevailing wind shifted from a slight easterly influence to a slight westerly influence. PIC chose to perform a beach landing and impacted low rocks. PIC sustained broken ribs and cheek. Emergency services were notified and subsequently transferred PIC to hospital. Pilots should be aware of variable conditions and land into wind whenever possible. Hazards on landing approach should be identified early, prior to attempting to land. #2049 – PG ankle sprain while dune flying, Tas A PG5 pilot was flying a new site on the Tasman Peninsular (Tas). As they were flying, the wind became crossed, reducing the available lift band. They made a down- wind landing resulting in a sprained ankle. Always be alert to changes in wind direction and land into wind before losing too much altitude. #2046 – Minor PG incident at Bells Beach (Southside), Vic Pilot had been flying their paraglider in a westerly direction at Bells Beach (Vic) and impacted an isolated cliff in variable lift conditions. Four lower lines impacted rocks and were damaged. PIC collected the glider and harness and hiked back to launch. No injuries were sustained. Pilots should maintain adequate clearance from obstacles and terrain, allowing for variable conditions. #2044 – Bad PG landing, Tas PIC (PG2) was landing after flying their paraglider at Single Hill (Tas). They lost forward speed as the wind strengthened on descent and landed in a paddock behind the beach. They had flared their
