The right information, at the right time. I think the sport has room to grow. Making flying more accessible and more affordable will be key to bringing new people into the sport. Strong junior and senior programs could be a part of that. In Queensland we currently have only two SAFA members under 25. In Europe, juniors are out-flying their parents! Clear safety pathways are a huge part of that too. Ongoing education around assessing conditions, managing risk, understanding airspace and making good decisions will all help our sport evolve. As our sport diversifies (with parakites, speed- flying and other disciplines) making sure pilots are well trained and well supported will be essential. Access also matters. Tasmania achieved that paragliding in National Parks is treated more like hiking and you can launch from anywhere, it’s incredible! Such integration could transform our sport. What do you think is the biggest challenge women face in the sport? There are two sides: psychological and physical.
