SAFA Skysailor Magazine
60 SKY SAILOR March-April-May | AUTUMN 2026 Club Bulletin – March 2026 Club Affiliation Renewal Club affiliation renewal is due in May. SAFA Affiliation is not mandatory for a club, but is highly recommended. Your club secretary will receive an email with affiliation renewal and insurance declarations during May and should be completed no later than 31 May. Whenever your club contacts, or committee, changes, we ask your club President or Secretary to please log into the club menu, then select ’VIEW AND UPDATE CONTACT DETAILS’ to ensure the club’s details published in SkySailor magazine, on the SAFA website and other media, are correct, and your club receives any communications from SAFA. It is recommended you use generic club email addresses where possible. This reduces spam to personal accounts and ensures SAFA has the correct contact emails. Note that each club must annually renew affiliation with SAFA to retain professional indemnification for your club committee members, and SAFA club recognition for delegation of Aviation Authorities. Your club must remain a legal entity recognised by Commonwealth or State law. Site Resources Want to open a new site, or understand ‘who does what’? The SAFA website Members Area has some useful documents to help your club manage sites. ‘SAFA Policy on Site Management’, ‘Biosecurity, Site Manage- ment & Landowner Information’, ‘Site Appraisal Guide’, and ‘Flight in National Parks’, to name just a few. Your club is also able to use the National Site Guide maintained and produced by volunteer pilots. It con- tains lots of information, accumulated by many members over many years; on establishing, maintaining, managing and importantly, funding sites. The National Site Guide can be used in many ways: Use it as your club’s only guide, add a little, or a lot of site information, or simply link your club’s existing site guide.
