SAFA Skysailor Magazine

33 January | February 2024 SKY SAILOR Office of Airspace Regulation (OAR) ACP timelines for 2024 The Office of Airspace Regulation (OAR) wishes to provide an update for all Airspace Change Pro- posals (ACPs) expected to be submitted in 2024. Purpose The current processing time frame of ACPs is approximately eight weeks for non-complex airspace requests (e.g. single Temporary Re- stricted Area (TRA) to support a simple activity) and approximately 12 weeks for complex pro- posals requesting multiple airspace solutions or complex permanent changes. Please note these time lines are a guide only and can be extended due to limited availability of resources or high numbers of ACPs awaiting assessment. The OAR will only commence assessment of an application upon receipt of a full and com- plete application. A full and complete applica- tion includes a risk assessment commensurate with the scale and complexity of the activity, and full and complete evidence of industry consultation including any feedback from AvSEF (to be open for comment for a minimum period of two weeks). If the ACP application is deemed incomplete or insufficient, the appli- cation will not progress to assessment and the assessment time frame will not commence until the OAR is satisfied with the quality of resubmitted supporting artifacts. The OAR provides ACP guidance material within the Airspace Risk and Safety Manage- ment Guide, available on our website.
