30 SKY SAILOR December-January-February | SUMMER 2025 On 12 December 2024, SAFA and the ACTHPA met with CASA personnel on the Part 103 Technical Working Group (TWG) for an information session about our aircraft. The Part 103 TWG is made up of CASA personnel and subject matter experts from the recreational aviation organisations whose members’ aircraft will be admin- istered by the CASR Part 103 Manual of Standards (MOS). The current Civil Aviation Orders which exempt us from provisions of the Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASRs) are now due for repeal on 1 December 2027. The CASR Part 103 Regs and MOS will describe the flight rules and maintenance requirements applicable to our aircraft.
