31 July | August 2022 SKY SAILOR Phi Symphonia 2 – EN A+ Phi Symphonia 2 sits at the top of the EN A+ class. With its unique blend of passive safety, performance and direct handling it has been described as a glider for 80% of pilots. Performance on glide and speed will match many current high EN B gliders, passive safety and pitch stability makes this glider safe to fly with a low workload and direct handling will put a smile on the face of any EN B pilot. The Symphonia is a high-performance wing with A-class safety. Symphonia 2 offers a very high performance/safety ratio. The Symphonia 2 combines the unique properties of the Symphonia with some new know-how used in Phi high-performance gliders. The leading edge is more stable, a new intake makes launching much easier. The mini ribs on the leading edge and the trailing edge and new rods in the nose improve per- formance. The sail cut has been revised and optimised for performance. Line material and line geometry are new. The weight has been noticeably reduced. Fly2Base Paragliding Shop BGD Epic 2 – low EN B The pleasure of flying, the beautiful life! The Epic 2 has impeccable safety and fun handling. BGD Epic 2 sits firmly in the low EN B class. It is the perfect partner for playing locally, exploring XC or starting out in freestyle. The Epic 2 is safe and reassuring, accessible to low-airtime pilots but with handling and performance more experienced pilots will love. We’ve improved the launch behaviour – the wing comes up smoothly and easily without overshooting. In-flight, it’s slightly faster than its predecessor (+1km/h at trim, +3km/h top speed) with improved glide. It’s also a great climber, especially in weak lift. Long brake travel means you won’t accidentally stall or spin, but it is precise on the brakes with direct, playful handling. The Epic 2 is reassuring in strong air but does not hide the bumps. At BGD we think feedback is important: The wing tells the pilot about the conditions, and the pilot can anticipate and avoid collapses.
