28 SKY SAILOR July | August 2024 The Australian team have enjoyed a successful campaign in the FAI Asian- Oceanic Paragliding Championships held in South Korea in June, finishing an impressive second place behind the home team. The highly coveted championships were held in Mungyeong, South Korea, from 5 to16 June, and were open to 125 of the Asian-Oceanic highest ranked pilots across nine countries – 20 of those competitors were Australian pilots. Australian team manager Craig Collings trav- elled with the team as an official, along with Barbara Scott, and praised the professionalism of the team, as well as the hosting skills of the South Korean Paragliding Association. “The Asian-Oceanic Paragliding Championships were an extremely successful campaign for the Australian team, with some great outcomes,” said Craig. “Our team of 20 Australians competed against some of the sport’s best from across the globe and to finish in second place is such a fantastic achievement.
