A group of microlight pilots are gearing up to relive an estimated 2000km trip along the Murray River which last took place 25 years ago. The 25th Anniversary Murray Trip started as an annual end of flying season event which bought a bunch of like-minded microlight pilots together to improve their flying skills. It started 30 years ago, in 1993, and only lasted until 1998. The initial trip consisted of pilots from the Right Altitude Microlight School based in Vic- toria, Adelaide Airsports based near Adelaide, and Sydney Microlight Centre in Wollongong, as well as the newly formed Southern Micro- light Club in Melbourne. The first trip in 25 years will take off from Yarrawonga on the Murray River in Victoria on 6 May and fly to Echuca and Swan Hill, Mildura, Renmark, and likely turn at Morgan. The journey will take a different route cross- country on the way back.
