25 March | April 2023 SKY SAILOR Australian paraglider’s toughest adventure yet Rich Binstead set to take on the Red Bull X-Alps in June 2023 The Red Bull X-Alps is the world’s toughest adventure race which will see 32 athletes run, hike and fly over a thousand kilometres from Salzburg to Mont Blanc and back, across the European Alps. Athletes from all around the world compete for two weeks from dusk till dawn with very little sleep, at times hiking up to 4000m uphill, running 100km and paragliding for 150km – every single day! Experienced nurse, paragliding instructor and tandem pilot, Richard Binstead is the sole Australian athlete competing for the first time as a Rookie in this year’s gruelling event.
