SAFA Skysailor Magazine
33 March | April 2023 SKY SAILOR Letter to the Editor Nova warranty repair service I had to send my glider to Nova In Hungary for repairs and thought I’d share how it went. The glider was one week shy of 12 months from purchase and badly torn in about a third of the cells. I emailed Nova and they accepted the repair, responding within 12 hours. Australia Post accepted the glider packed inside a stuff sack, done up tightly. I labelled the outside clearly as directed by Nova. It cost about $145 for registered airfreight to Hungary and it was at Nova in about 10 days. They notified me straight away. The fix took about a week. They sent me an invoice for EU50 plus freight which I was able to pay by direct international bank transfer. It came to about $450. My glider arrived via DHL about a week earlier than I expected. All up it cost me about $600 and a bit of humility. Nova honoured everything they said at purchase. I’ve never sent anything like that overseas before and Aus Post were all over it. Flew it today, and very happy to be back together again. Peter Steel Before and after, good as new Photos: Peter Steel
