SAFA SkySailor Magazine
13 March | April 2024 SKY SAILOR Refreshed and re-fuelled, we returned to base camp. After much deliberation, a brave few made their way back to the hill for one last soaring session and a front-row seat to the sunset before the Stripeydog Travestie Bar officially opened its doors. The evening unfolded in a symphony of stories, from eagle evasion tactics to question- able grooming advice for sailors in the south Mediterranean (don’t ask…). Meanwhile, Iain worked his magic, whipping up Caipirinhas for adventurous souls willing to risk more than one, while the Session McAle flowed freely, fuelling the festivities well into the night. As dawn broke over Gaffs Hill, we were met with a thick blanket of fog covering the landscape. Pilots emerged from tents with varying reactions: Noah eagerly prepped his PPG in hopes of an early lift-off, while the rest of us prioritised coffee as if our lives depended on it. As caffeine levels climbed and our social interaction meters recharged, the fog began to disperse, revealing the promise of another day of adventure. Photos: Nick Bishop Photos: Paul Sciberras
