This data is presented in four tables. The first is the aggregate of all accident types, followed by tables for Accidents, Incidents and Complaints or Not Recorded. These tables look back to FY 2015/2016. When we look at these numbers, we can see there was a spike in events in FY20/21. Why? This was the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic. Surely everyone was in lockdown, or is it because people lost currency and then had a bingle on their return to flight? Well, no. Overall, the number of accident or incidents is slightly elevated, but the number of complaints originating in NSW was through the roof. These largely relate to the activities of just a couple of people. In Ops, we have been discussing the appro- priateness of AIRS as a vehicle for handling complaints. We have the Complaint Manage- ment System that we need to adapt for Part 149 processes post-certification, and it is likely the CMS takes on this role from AIRS in future.
