As always, the retrieve drivers played a crucial role over the week, as did the Borah Basher drivers (Karl and Michael), who pushed through the extremely hot, humid and dusty days to get pilots to the top. Scotty’s Burgers and Breakfasts were much appreciated by the hungry masses. The 2024 XC Camp marks the temporary end of an era for annual big week long inter- national events in Manilla after 30 years. From the beginnings of Manilla, Australian and Kiwi Opens in the 1990s through to the FAI 7th World Championships in 2007, the XC Open World Series and more recently the hugely popular XC Camp events, I decided it’s time for a break!
