SAFA Skysailor Magazine

17 November | December 2021 SKY SAILOR and encourages everyone in the group to feel equal and participate in whatever capacity they feel comfortable with. The group can be used as a resource to share and receive in a way of the pilots choosing to feel connected and supported on their own flying journey. This can include posting about their expe- riences, challenges and successes; sharing resources; asking questions and participating in topical discussions; requesting support; posting photos and videos; and organising events or meet ups together. We have led an educational monthly ‘Zoom and Vino Session’, where subject matter experts present to the group on a particular topic of interest in an inclusive and interactive way. These have been well received by both the participants and presenters, and topics have ranged from Comp Flying with Kari Ellis; Understanding Fear with Heike Hamann; Red Left: Kaz and Nat Above: Kaz at Bright Photos: Kaz and Colin Leggett Bull X-Alps, VolBiv and Hike and Fly with Kinga Masztalerz; Wing Progression and Gear with Gareth Carter; Understanding the Sky with Wally Arcidiacono; SIV with Jocky Sanderson; and an intro to Weather with Gavin Morris. The sessions are recorded and made available to the group for those who cannot attend the live stream. We are incredibly grateful to the generosity of our subject matter experts for their time, effort and support. What type of sports aviation do you do? Tell me a bit about your experience Kaz: I am a paraglider pilot, and also recently got my RAA pilot licence too. I learnt to fly on the coast, and was lucky enough to live close to the small flying site Hill 60, which combined with Stanwell, is where most of my coastal flying has been done. I am much more pas- sionate about inland flying, and have recently moved to the Bright region to focus more on
