A slight drizzle welcomed pilots at launch, prompting everyone to seek shelter until conditions cleared enough to fly. While Meet Director Goran Dimishkovski conducted the briefing, a wind tech tested conditions and was able to soar above take- off. However, conditions remained variable, leading to some pilots bombing out directly. As a result, the start gaggle was spread out, with some struggling to gain sufficient altitude. Once again, the small 32km task was full of surprises, as overall leader Martin Jovanoski bombed out, losing his overall lead to first Zhenjun Zhao, with Zeljko Ovuka finishing in second ahead of Martin. The women‘s ranking was won by Korean pilot Keiko Hiraki, second Tomoko Yoshikawa and third Jinhee Baek. www.pwca.org
