7 November | December 2024 SKY SAILOR Born on 12 July 1932, Bill was the oldest of six siblings and continued to trailblaze through life from an early age to head the Moyes family legacy as well as a dynasty. Growing up in the Sydney suburb of Bronte, marrying Molly at an early age, he was a lifelong local legend and at home in the water as much as in the air – always following his dreams and turning them into realities for others to see and join into. Bill became known early on as ‘The Birdman’ by towing home-built gliders at events around the country, and around the world, performing stunts, continually defying the odds and over- coming the inevitable injuries and set-backs.
