23 September | October 2024 SKY SAILOR Here is a bit about the team members who competed: David Wainwright As the Australian team leader for the Paramotor Endurance Championships, David finished in ninth place with a score of 4504 points. He has been flying for 16 years and is a member of the Mid North Coast Flyers. Ross Cameron Ross finished in 36th place with a score of 2034 points. He has been flying paramotors for seven years. Dan Eakins Dan is a paramotor pilot from Darwin and has been flying for 19 years. This was his first competition and he finished in 37th place with a score of 1698. Telfer Thorbjornsen Fellow Darwin pilot Telfer, finished in 44th place with a score of 927. He has been flying for three years and this was his first competitive event. Tony Parkin Tony is based on the Gold Coast and has been flying paramotors for five years. He is now a proud Australian team pilot even though he is originally from the UK. He finished in 48th place with a score of 457. The inaugural championships took place at Manston Airport in Kent from 3 to 10 August, with the paramotor pilots demonstrating their skills in this landmark event.
