11 SPRING 2026 | September-October-November SKY SAILOR Screen grabs from ‘Peak Stoke’: Brad Harris After I had my wing under control, I paused and looked around. Perhaps to see if anyone witnessed the end of something so special, or to check back into a world I had been absent from for a few hours. I packed up my gear and started my 9km walk out to Farmhouse Creek Road. Think- ing it would be a shoe-in, I was very quickly knee-deep in mud, getting cut by razor grass, climbing over logs and getting lost. After three hours, I waded through the last river to be greeted by my friend Andrew blowing a party whistle in celebration. He had launched with me 10 hours earlier from Mt Eliza, and after landing, drove four hours to meet me. Conveniently, one of my closest friends, Brad Harris, is a cinematographer. Creat- ing a film about the flight simply wouldn’t have happened without him. We wanted to show some of the challenges of being a cross-country pilot in Tassie, as well as why it can be so rewarding.
