38 SKY SAILOR September-October-November | SPRING 2026 Events Calendar 2026 September Canungra Sports Cup 26 September to 3 October Location: Canungra, SE QLD Sanction: AA/FAI 2 Type: PG foot launch event Description: XC racing through the scenic rim area of SE QLD and northern NSW in the peak Canungra spring season. Limited to 70 pilots and Sports Class EN-C gliders and below to create a level playing field for all. Overall and day prizes for a host of categories. Social events/meals during the week will make for a fun week long event. Requirements: Pilots must carry/use personal Skylines tracking, have a valid VHF Airband radio operator’s license and carry Airband radio above 5000ft as per SAFA Ops protocol. October Forbes Team Competition 9 to 11 October Location: Bill Moyes International Airport, Forbes, NSW Type: HG aerotow event Practice day: Thursday 8 October Requirements: Current SAFA mem- bership, Aerotow and VHF Endorsements Registration: See www.forbesflatlands. com Organiser: Vicki Cain Description: Learn, compete, and have fun. Advanced pilots will help with weather, strategy, debriefs, and tips. Enter as teams of 3-4 pilots. Each team organises their own retrieve driver. Each day’s best three pilot scores per team count, scored as 1pt/km for topless gliders, 2pt/km for kingpost gliders, and 3pt/km for floater gliders. Don’t have a team?
