Stubai did not disappoint. After arriving, we wasted little time before Roger and Rohan Taylor had us all up on Elfer launch to join the melee of other pilots already in the air. This was my first flight for some time, I confess the crowding was a bit overwhelming, but as long as you kept a lookout and allowed for some random piloting by those around, there was plenty of lift for all. Next day, we headed up Schlick in the morning – my first flight here made this a favourite straightaway – the scenery was just what I had hoped for – breathtaking! We only had one non-flying day over the whole 10 days, an opportunity to explore the surrounds a little more. A group of us walked to Grawa waterfall in the rain, followed by a dry-off/warm-up with dump- lings and strudels at the local hut, before a fun afternoon of downhill tobogganing. A few day trips to other sites included a day at Kössen, were I had last flown many years ago with the Aussie Women’s Team at the first FAI Women’s Hang Gliding Worlds in 1991 – half a lifetime ago, don’t
