If your club has not yet renewed, your affiliation has now lapsed and we urge immediate renewal if you have not done so already. An email with a renewal link was sent to your club executives. Renewal for Regional Associations is due later in the year. Please use the online club management links to update your club contact details should they change, and ensure SAFA has the right people to contact. Funding Club Projects Is your club planning an ‘introduction to the sport’ day, conduct some expensive site maintenance, run an event to encourage new pilots to join, attend an air show or public event to promote the sports, seek first aid training for club members, run events for disabled, youth, or other under-represented persons or another project that supports the SAFA Strategic Plan*? *See SAFA Strategic Plan and Regional Associations and affiliated clubs shared statement of objectives. There are several sources of funding for club projects, including: • Club membership fees/fundraisers Talk to your treasurer! • Local business sponsors Help them to help you. • Regional Development Levies These are collected by SAFA on behalf of and set by individual Regional Associations. Each region is required to publish the purposes and uses of the RDL, and how clubs or individuals can access it for projects. Check their websites and contact the Regional Associations committee members to see if your project is eligible. • Government Grants 1. Local council: Many local councils provide small scale grants for facility or infrastructure development. 2. State Government: These often provide two ‘levels’ of grants; for the States Sporting Organisation level (Regional Association), and for clubs. Facilities, infrastructure, increased
