15 WINTER 2026 | June-July-August SKY SAILOR the playing field and removes the pressure of high-performance racing. Instead, the focus is on learning, teamwork and build- ing confidence in the sky. The comp also features three categories: • Open – for all pilots • Under 30s – for the up-and-coming young guns, the future of our sport • Over 60s – for those who embraced the freedom of the sky later in life At its core, the festival is about helping pilots take the next step – introducing them to competition flying, from task setting and instrument use, to flying full XC courses in a supportive environment. The idea dates back to 2012, when Curt Warren first created a floater-style competition while his son Wiley was just three years old. Fast forward to 2026, and Wiley now stands on launch as the event’s youngest competitor at just 16, a full-circle moment that perfectly captures the spirit of the festival. This year, seven pilots had only just gained their tow endorsement with Curt Warren – making their achievements over the weekend even more remarkable.
