34 SKY SAILOR June-July-August | WINTER 2026 an impressive 91.5km, setting a new PB. On Sunday, he more than doubled this, cracking out a massive 198.7km flight and scoring a whopping 575.1 points –perhaps the highest single SoO score yet recorded! After years of steadily climbing the ranks, getting organised, and building stronger team cohesion, the World Barbarian Bugs finally broke Queensland’s winning streak. It felt well deserved. For a team made up of pilots from everywhere (different clubs, different states, different countries), build- ing that kind of culture is no small thing. And their contribution to the compe- tition went well beyond the scoreboard. Lukasz built the scoring system, opening up a whole new level of statistics and team tracking at originscores.com . Coralie worked alongside Hammed over the past year to deliver Squiggly 2.0, the tracking and retrieve system many of us relied on throughout the event. Both captains were huge contributors to the event, brilliant pilots, and genuinely excellent people. Dare I say, Sunday was a proud day to be a Bug! State of Origin 2026
