55 WINTER 2026 | June-July-August SKY SAILOR #1906 – PG rocks/water landing, Lennox Head, NSW PIC launched for their second flight of the day at Lennox Head (NSW). Winds were approximately +12kt on launch. They headed towards the headland to the right with good height, but hit sink as they came around the corner. Despite radio calls from observers, the PIC did not turn back and landed on the rocks at water’s edge, with the wing partially in the sea. Some damage to the wing resulted, but no injury. All pilots are reminded of the importance of conducting a radio check before each flight. Always keep a safe landing in sight and within glide distance, particularly if flying on coastal cliffs. If sink is encountered, head back to a safe landing. #1909 – Minor PG incident, Qld/N PIC was ground-handling their paraglider at Yeppoon (Qld/N). Their feet slipped on the grassy surface, causing them to lose control of the wing, which then fell over a small tree. They were able to recover it without damage. All pilots are reminded to wear footwear appropriate for our activities. Documents and Forms SAFA Documents are available in the Member Zone of the SAFA website .
