10 SKY SAILOR March-April-May | AUTUMN 2026 This year, HG Comps mixed it up again with a ‘Curry & Karaoke’ night at the Tintaldra Hotel on the Tuesday night. Our thanks to the publican, Darren Jones, for serving up great food and putting up with some questionable performances. Those who got up earned valuable points for their teams and went into the draw for some awesome prizes on the night. Task 2 on 6 January saw a fire burning 25km from Jinjellic and several aircraft using the Corryong airport for refuelling. In order to maintain separation, all sub- sequent tasks were set to the east end of the valley with goal at Khancoban airfield. The open task was 67.5km around four turnpoints, then to goal at Khancoban. A lot of pilots made goal. The floaters had a quick 19.5km task from Mt Elliot to Towong, back to Elliot, then Khancoban. Half of the floater field was in goal, all were veteran pilots, except for Jakota, our new rising star making his first goal at his first competition in third place and only 8.7 minutes off the winning pace.
