28 SKY SAILOR January | February 2022 We finally made it back to Strathalbyn. After cancellations, due to border closures, and numerous emails back and forth between those on my waiting list, we were finally able to complete the Sport Aviation/Rotax Maintenance Courses for those that have waited so patiently. This time it wasn’t just one, but two courses, as well as a ‘Return to Safe Flying’ Workshop, which was sponsored by RAAus. A big thank you to CFI Larry for his patience in the lead up to, and reorganisation of, our interstate travel to Strathalbyn. Without Larry’s help, we would not have been able to organise these courses and I’m sure very few people know how difficult it can be. I was surprised at how many pilots have given up flying altogether, since we were last in the planning stage of these courses, but luckily we still had enough on our waiting list to go ahead. Our first course was over the weekend of 16-17 October and we had seven attendees. The second course was to try and encompass those who remained on our waiting list (from Strathalbyn hosts another successful SA/Rotax Maintenance course, or two… by Carole MacNally
