22 SKY SAILOR March | April 2024 by Dan Pugsley and Vicki Zadrozny Adventure HQ is holding the Magic Land Adventure Sports Festival; incorporating NZ Acro Fest, from 22 to 23 March at Glendhu Bay, NZ, with camping available from Monday 18th for those wanting action all week. The two-day festival promises an adrena- line-pumping line-up of action sports, live music and entertainment. The festival is the result of Wanaka adventure sports locals, ‘Danger’ Dan Pugsley and Vicki ‘Pow Pow’ Zadrozny after spending their past years travelling Europe. “We were blown away by all the adventure sports that incorporated a festival vibe while we were paragliding around Europe the last two years,” enthused Dan. “We especially loved the The Buttermere Bash free-flyers fest where people from all over came to participate in incredible activities and flying that happens all week. “As long-time Queenstown and Wanaka locals, we knew we could do something similar here in the adventure capital of New Zealand!” Both Dan and Vicki are Tandem Pilots, flying paragliders from Treble Cone – one of the best flying sites in the country, and just 10 minutes away from the festival grounds. They want to showcase this amazing part of the world.
