23 March | April 2024 SKY SAILOR Icare in France, Vicki and Dan began to bring together their local adventure loving South Island friends to put together this year’s inau- gural Magic Land Adventure Sports Festival. The festival is all about variety, with a range of action sports on offer, including: Acro Fest – NZ’s national aerobatic paragliding comp, speed flying boogie, XC coaching, paramotoring, mountain biking, kayaking, and wingsuiting. Participants can also learn about local BASE exits in the valley with local legends showing crew around the valley. On the water, take a thrill ride on F1 Super- boat NZ, the world’s first F1 boat experience and don’t forget Bike Glendhu, just around the corner. The Bike Wanaka trails all around, as well as the world class Rock Climbing in the Matukituki Valley. The festival encourages attendees to capture their adventures on camera and submit their footage for the day tapes, where a weekly edit will be produced showcasing highlights from all activities on the big screen for all to see. As the sun sets during the week, the adventure continues at Magic Land Marquee with renowned pilots like YouTube sensation Benjamin Kellet, and Redbull X-Alps Athlete Kinga Masztalerz giving inspiring talks. White Water Queenstown adventure films will also be screened, keeping the energy high into the night. Live bands and DJs will play tunes throughout the event, ensuring that the party never stops.
