30 SKY SAILOR May | June 2023 News & New Products Syride Sys’Nav XL app compatibility with Active Look technology This innovative technology allows pilots to connect their Active Look smart glasses to the SYS'Nav XL instrument, and display HUD data directly on the lenses. The SYS'Nav XL vario-GPS, launched last year, is a very versatile flight instrument de- signed for PG and PPG pilots – from beginners, leisure, hike’n’fly, competition to XC pilots. At the moment, the HUD screen can display variometer, altitude and speed, but Syride wants to let pilots choose the data they want to display in a future update of the app. For more information, visit the Syride website or email contact@syride.com . Route for Red Bull X-Alps 2023 The world’s toughest adventure race is to start in Kitzbühel, Kirchberg, Austria, on 11 June 2023, pass 15 TPs and finish in Zell am See. The 1,223km route is full of challenges, featuring a new start, a via ferrata climb in the Sexten Dolomites and a crossing of the Aletsch glacier and passes five countries: Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy. For the first time since 2007 the race starts in a different location – Kitzbühel, famous for its downhill ski race, the Hahnenkamm. The 34 athletes start from the town centre before running 900m to the top were they’ll attempt to launch themselves into the air and across the Alps.
