As an organisation, we recognise the risks and put controls in place to ensure that we mitigate the risk to members to a level as low as is reasonably practicable. At the individual level, we all understand and accept the risks when we go flying. But do we all appreciate the consequences when things go wrong? There have been some very nasty, life-changing injuries that remain fresh in my memory that have come across my desk. The numbers above do not capture those. So, I would ask you all to please, carefully assess all the conditions that will influence your decision to fly. We’ll continue looking at more numbers next issue. That’s all for this issue.
