36 SKY SAILOR May | June 2023 At the age of 23, I went to the 1976 Hang Gliding Championships in Queenstown (NZ) from South Australia and ended up staying for three years. part from having some amazing flights from the Remarkables, Coronet Peak, Skyline For the love of flying – 1976 to now by Rob Nicholls ‘Comeback’ training with Rohan All photos: Courtesy Rob Nicholls and many other spots, I also formed the Queenstown Hang Gliding Club and ran a hang gliding school there as well. Last year, I caught the flying bug again and did a course with Rohan Holtkamp to get me back into the air. (Thank you, Rohan and Sandra!)
