A familiar place from a different perspective We climbed above Hotham village to 2950m – the highest altitude of the day – before turning back toward Feathertop. At that moment, the endorphins were surging, the scale of the journey truly sinking in. Back at Feathertop, Geoff peeled away toward Bright to fulfill parenting duties. It was bittersweet to watch him leave, but I felt immense gratitude for sharing this adventure with such a great companion. I continued alone toward the final goal of the day: Mt Bogong – highest mountain in Victoria. Approaching its massive flanks stirred a deep sense of respect. Back at Feathertop, Geoff heads off toward Bright – thanks mate, what a ride!
