20 SKY SAILOR December-January-February | SUMMER 2025/2026 I had had a heap of prior advice. Every- one was saying, “Don’t get caught by the cloud!” So, for the first 10 minutes, I was on high alert. Well, even higher than normal. Slowly, I began to relax and take all the visuals in. The cloud and colour of white can be exaggerated when it moves at 30 or so knots. The cloud face morphed as it moved along, changing speed all the time. It’s easy to get distracted by the seriously trippy patterns created by the movement. The entire flight, which wasn’t super long, gave me an almost out-of-body experience. Such a trip! No flight could ever compare to it. Having watched Jonny Durand and the Red Bull team's clip, I had dreamt of this day for many years and it didn't disappoint. Accessing the MG isn’t easy. However, I believe it’s well worth the effort.
