Jimmy soon joined Jonny and Chris as they pushed toward goal – until they found themselves low again just six kilometres from the finish. Then the sky delivered. Jonas and Bosco arrived to join the struggling gaggle, while Chris – who had been high overhead on his way to goal – turned back to rejoin them. Finally, the strongest thermal of the day lifted the group high enough for a comfort- able 5:1 glide to goal. One by one they glided in. Eight pilots made goal together. Jimmy, Wiley and Mike Bass all reached their first goals, while Ian also made his first ever goal, turning the day into a celebration. At just 16 years old, Wiley claimed his first task win. Day 3: A tough final test Sunday’s task was another 40km run east toward Eugowra.
