22 SKY SAILOR June-July-August | WINTER 2026 Propfest 2026 Brooms Head Fly-In: Skills, sand and shared learning by Phil Burrows February Propfest brought another memorable paramotoring gathering at Brooms Head on the NSW north coast, drawing around 70 pilots and enthusiasts together for a three-day weekend of flying, learning and camaraderie. With participants travelling from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and beyond, the event once again showed the strength and spirit of Australia’s paramotoring community. When I arrived around 12:30pm on the Friday, it was clear the turn-out was going to be bigger than the previous year. The campsite beside the airstrip was already full of vans, tents, trailers and wings being unpacked. Engines were being tuned, pilots were chatting in small groups, and the air was filled with that familiar mix of anticipation and excitement that comes with a big flying weekend. One of the great aspects of the gathering was that everyone camped right alongside the airstrip. This created a relaxed and social environment where pilots could easily walk across to help each other,
