16 SKY SAILOR March-April-May | AUTUMN 2026 Daniel Rhodes flew his longest goal ever, logging another seven-hour flight-three long days in a row for him. For me, the day was a turning point. After getting stuck low, I arrived a full 40 minutes behind the winners, losing the overall lead and sliding back to fifth place. At Forbes, mistakes are punished quickly. Day 4: The day of the week If there was a standout day, task four was it. Instead of a 300km downwind task and an epic retrieve, we set a 180km dogleg and it turned out to be pure magic. Conditions were outstanding, and all but a couple of pilots made goal. More person- al bests fell, and the racing was tight from start to finish. I managed to lead from the front all day and took the win, securing my 1000 points. Rory crossed the line just 10 seconds behind me, with Attila arriving 12 minutes later. The heartbreak story belonged to Curt Warren, who landed just 20m short of the goal cylinder, losing his podium position in the cruelest way possible. Forbes can be generous, but it can also be ruthless. Forbes Flatlands
