SAFA Skysailor Magazine

19 January | February 2022 SKY SAILOR at the same weekend. We had a few people pull out because of this, but we managed (finally) to get a group of eight together plus four refreshers. However, due to adverse weather conditions we had one attendee who, being flooded in at home, was unable to attend and another who just didn’t arrive. Yet another had already pulled out, leaving us short on numbers. Unfortunately the Air Spectacular was cancelled due to the weather but we remained three attendees short for the course. However, our refreshers were able to take advantage of the reduced number of attendees and joined in on all the practicals. With only having one two-stroke attendee, it has been decided that future courses will only cover the Rotax four-stroke as we can cover weightshift, three-axis and gyros with this material. The two-stroke part will still be available if there are a sufficient number of two-stroke flyers and a suitable venue, but otherwise it will just be four-stroke. The suitability of aircraft for the practicals is also quite hard to find, so we need venues to offer to host these courses and supply a suitable 912 air- craft for the practicals. Statistics to date South Australia 14 courses / 1 venue Queensland 10 courses / 9 venues New South Wales 10 courses / 5 venues Western Australia 10 courses / 5 venues Victoria 6 courses / 3 venues Any venue can contact us to request a list of requirements and costing. Just contact the SAFA Office for our contact details.
