16 SKY SAILOR March | April 2024 by Tracey Meyer HG Comps have resurrected the Corryong Cup Hang Gliding Competition to its former glory and now they are at it again with the Birchip Flatter Than The Flatlands! Get ready for a super duper awesome Easter of flying with great mates and new flying friends. Peter Holloway (Freedom Airsports) will be running a tow endorsement course from 25 to 28 March, immediately prior to the FTTF Hang Gliding Competition which is super convenient for those who need to freshen up their towing skills (contact Peter on 0409 526 805 for details). Pilots will be there a few days prior to the competition, getting in some early practice for those who want to join in. This year will see the return of the Vic/ SA Challenge but re-branded as the ‘State of Origin Challenge’ to reflect the fact that we are now drawing entrants from many states. At this stage we have teams from Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, New South Wales, ACT and possibly WA! Floater V will be back due to its overwhelm- ing success along with the winning team mugs and the Skypig award. The major prize for FTTF is 13th and this year it is a purple instrument pod (donated by Neale Halsall in memory of Emma Martin) HG Comps have purchased a BlueFly and powerbank to complete the package. There will also be trophies down to 11th place along with lots of give-aways and high velocity Easter eggs (remember to duck at briefing on Easter Sunday morning!)
