You need to connect with Glastonbury high because its eastern, windward side is shallow and heavily treed. Looking at Daz and Felix’s tracks, it seems the stronger easterly kicked their legs out from under them during this crossing – a valiant effort, but the triangle wasn’t closed. That made Grant Belonje’s triangle even more impressive. He somehow dragged himself through the crux and onto the more sheltered hills west of Glastonbury, gaining enough height to triumphantly return to the bomb-out. Anthony Brown took the term Widgee triangle literally by flying to Widgee town- ship and then returning to the bomb-out. Peter Harding also made a nice flight to Widgee after launching early in the light conditions. Seaton Fell-Smith chose the Gentleman’s Counter-Clockwise Triangle XC, landing back at the bomb-out, where his beers were no doubt waiting for him.
