13 SUMMER 2025/2026 | December-January-February SKY SAILOR Thermalling with Geoff over Mystic above the surrounding valleys. From the air, the historic Buffalo Chalet appeared as a tiny green speck clinging to the edge of the cliffs – a reminder of how vast these landscapes are from above. Turning south, we set our sights on the sharp ridgeline of Mt Feathertop, one of the most dramatic peaks in the Australian Alps. Behind it stretched the sweeping alpine country that defines Victoria’s high mountains. From Feathertop, we climbed to 2600m, then glided deep along the Razorback Ridge toward Hotham.
